Just Who Are These Guys?
Kent
Cornwell, singing Tenor, began his barbershopping at the age of
four singing
tenor in his family quartet. It was started by his dad, Leo,
who was a
charter member of the Independence, Missouri chapter.
Kent
joined the Tulsa #1 Chapter when he was 16 years old, went on to be a
music major
in college and has since been a member of SPEBSQSA for 44 years.
During those years, Kent has been chapter
President five times, a past Barbershopper of the Year, Member of the
Founders
Hall of Fame, Past District President, Past member of the Society’s
International Board of Directors, served on the Chapter Officers
Training
School Faculty and sung in numerous show and competition quartets.
Married to
Jeannie, Kent has three children and six grandchildren (five active and
one in the oven).

Curt
Angel, puttin’ out the lead, also a music major in
college, comes with 23 years
of membership in the Tulsa #1 Chapter. A
past music minister and past director of both the Tulsa
#1 Chapter
“Founders Chorus” and the Tulsa #1 Sweet Adelines Chorus, Curt brings a
wealth
of quartet experience from singing with several quartets, now five of
which
were District Quartet Champions and went on to compete on the
International
Level. He is also a past Barbershopper Of The Year and recipient of the
Edwin
Wright, Sr. Award for Musical Excellence. Curt
is married to Tammy and has five sons and one daughter.
Eddie Wright,
squeezing’ in the
baritone, also comes from
a barbershopping family and started ringing chords at his fathers knee. His father, Ed Wright, Sr., was one of
the
original eleven founders of our society and was the first recipient of
a
50-year membership card. Not to be out done, his mom, “Pee Wee” Wright
was a
highly recognized Sweet Adeline Bass and arranger.
With
a music minor in college and 35 years membership in the
Tulsa #1 Chapter, Eddie is a past director of the Tulsa #1 SPEBSQSA
Founders Chorus and the Tahlequah
Sweet Adelines chorus. A
fantastic

Harmony
Education
Faculty. Besides being a Past
Barbershopper of the Year, he has sung in numerous show and competition
quartets. Married to Jackie, Eddie
has
two sons and one grandson.
Darrell
Davis, sliding in the bass, is a newcomer to our hobby
with six years
membership in the Tulsa #1 Chapter. Also a music major with a degree in
church
music, Darrell brings a beautiful bass voice that adds just
the right
foundation to this quartets huge sound. Darrell
sang with
“Vocal Attraction“ and “7th
and Main” quartets before Cooligans became
official. He's single, LADIES, and lives with his cat, Maestro.
